Tree Planting Missions

Part of Tim's passion is helping with the protection of the natural world around us, as an extension of his photography of nature and life around us. Tim has relationships with people who are among the best tree planting experts in the world.  

Tim  works with One Tree Planted (OTP), an organization that has planted more than 180 million trees around the world.  They are a non-profit organization created to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. With their tree planting, they restore forests, create habitat for biodiversity, and make a social impact around the world. They have worked with 378 partners across 82 countries in North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Pacific. Especially meaningful locally, they have worked with multiple projects in California, especially with restoration of fire impacted areas. Part of their efforts are devoted to urban forestry, where tree planting campaigns create healthier environments with increasing shade with the canopy cover of trees and helping people in city feel more connected to nature. 

In working with a private foundation in contributing to tree planting missions, Tim has also developed relationship with tree planting non profit organizations working in Africa. With Tree 

Aid, 1,500,000 trees have been planted in the eastern and western Sahel region of Africa, empowering local communities to bring new life with tree planting initiatives to combat desertification from challenging climate conditions. This has made a contribution to the Great Green Wall initiative to help relieve desertification in the Sahel and hold back expansion of the Sahara desert. Led by High Atlas Foundation further north in Morocco, a 500,000 tree planting initiative is underway. New tree planting is bringing relief to local communities with the benefit of improving their living environment and also economic stability to areas heavily impacted by harsh climate conditions.

Tim has also helped with donations to  Archangel Ancient Tree Archive, where  they have solved the code of cloning old growth redwoods, sequoias, and other notable tree species. They are also archiving the location of the oldest growth redwoods as well as other species of old trees in the world. More specifically, they locate and propagate the world's largest and most iconic trees.
